The J-Term committee is excited to announce this year’s events. J-Term will take place January 11-13, 2022 and consist of virtual events. Participation in the annual J-Term is open to anyone and may be of particular interest to those involved in the SLAC, NBL, CNC-CT, and COGS programs. Here’s the schedule in brief:
Tuesday, January 11 (Virtual)
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Shiny tutorial
1:00 – 3:00 PM: DEI workshop
Wednesday, January 12 (Virtual)
1:00 – 3:00 PM: Online/web-based research methods panel
Thursday, January 13 (Virtual)
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Careers in industry panel
1:30 – 3:00 PM: Research talk and career reflections from Dr. Dominic Gibson at foundry10
To help with our planning for catering and the panels, please complete this (very!) brief survey by January 3. We will send a more detailed event listing at the beginning of the new year. We are of course monitoring for potential pandemic-related changes to UConn operations and will communicate any impact on J-Term activities as warranted.
J-Term provides a very unique opportunity for community building among our training and research communities, and we’re keen to keep this event a hallmark of our communities both now and down the road. Participation is vital to this end, and we sincerely thank all who have helped keep our community together and thriving in these challenging times.
Many thanks,
J-Term Committee (Nikole Giovannone, Amanda Mankovich, Kirsten Reyna, Jennifer Richardson, Amanda Wadams, Rachel Theodore)
